Kemp Ridley Turtles
On Tuesday August 19th park rangers from Gulf Island National Seashore released more than 100 Kemp Ridley Turtles. With an estimated survival rate of 1 in 10,000 they are the most critically endangered of all sea turtles. It was an incredible experience!

Mardi Gras Parade 2008

The First Annual Navarre Beach Arts Festival took place the weekend of October 13-15. The weather was great as was the turnout!

Navarre Beach Pier 2009
A ceremony putting a 40,000 pound pile cap in place took place on May 28th marking the official beginning of contruction on the new Navarre Pier. The new pier will be 1,500 feet long with 32,000 square feet of accessible surface area. It will feature handicap-accessible rails, water faucets, and an octagonal fishing area at the end of the pier. Rubble from the old pier will be used for reef material. The new pier will be completed in the spring of 2010.
